Terms of use
These terms govern the use of the pocketrocket.click website, the contact form, the idea board, the PocketRocket and PocketRocket Host apps, and the services these apps use. They are the terms of service for electronically supplied services within the meaning of the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
Services
- Website — making the content of pocketrocket.click available.
- Contact form — sending a message to aveneo.
- Idea board — suggesting ideas, voting for them and commenting, on this website and at feedback.pocketrocket.click.
- Relay — passing a connection between the PocketRocket app and PocketRocket Host when a direct connection isn’t possible.
- Update server — providing the installer and updates of PocketRocket Host.
There is no charge for using the website, the contact form or the idea board. The agreement for a service is concluded when you start using it and ends when you stop using it; for the contact form, when you send your message. You can stop using the services at any time by no longer using them and deleting the apps.
Technical requirements
To use the website you need a device with internet access and an up-to-date browser with JavaScript enabled, such as Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge. The requirements of the apps are listed in the tech specs.
Rules of use
- Use the services in line with the law, these terms and good practice.
- Don’t submit unlawful or offensive content, content that infringes the rights of others, or unsolicited commercial messages.
- Connect only to Mac computers you are entitled to access. You are responsible for what you do in a remote session.
- Don’t disrupt the services, in particular the relay and the update server, and don’t try to get around their security measures or limits.
We may decline to publish, hide or remove an idea or comment that breaks these rules or isn’t about PocketRocket and, in case of abuse, restrict access to a service.
Ideas and feedback
Sending an idea, feedback or a vote doesn’t oblige us to implement the idea, to reply or to pay anything. Ideas as such aren’t protected by copyright, so we may use them when developing our products.
If content you publish on the idea board is a work protected by copyright, you grant aveneo a royalty-free, non-exclusive license, without territorial limits, to: record and reproduce it in device memory and on servers; make it publicly available on the idea board and on pocketrocket.click so that anyone can access it at a place and time of their choosing; and translate and shorten it as needed to present it. You confirm that you are entitled to grant this license.
The apps
We make the PocketRocket app available through Apple’s App Store or TestFlight. Its use is governed by Apple’s terms, including the standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and by these terms.
You download PocketRocket Host from update.pocketrocket.click. aveneo grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use PocketRocket Host on Mac computers you use, in order to connect to them with the PocketRocket app. You may not distribute, modify or decompile PocketRocket Host, except where the law expressly allows it.
PocketRocket Host checks for and installs updates automatically. Updates may change, add or remove features. The apps use only the system permissions you grant them (such as Screen Recording, Accessibility, Camera and Microphone), and you can revoke them in your system settings.
Subscriptions
PocketRocket Host is free. In the PocketRocket app downloaded from the App Store:
- connections over your local network are free and don’t require a subscription, to one Mac at a time on each device;
- connections over your own VPN or directly over the internet through your router (NAT), from any network, and connections to several Mac computers at once, require the monthly Own Infrastructure subscription, even when our relay helps to set them up, for example by asking your Mac to open a port in your router;
- connections through the PocketRocket relay, which work from anywhere without setting up your router, require the monthly Cloud subscription, which also includes everything in Own Infrastructure.
Pairing with a code and Online Key Sharing are free. Only the device that connects needs a subscription—including a guest who paired with a code—not the Mac it connects to.
Subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms, and we don’t receive your payment details. The price, in the currency of your country, is shown in the App Store and in the app before you confirm the purchase.
New subscribers can try a plan free for 7 days, once per Apple Account: the trial covers one of the two plans, not each of them. If you don’t cancel during the trial, Apple charges the first payment when it ends.
A subscription renews automatically for another month until you cancel it. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings, under Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends; the plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. You change plans in the same place, for example from Own Infrastructure to Cloud, and Apple settles the change under its own terms—proportionally when you move up to Cloud.
Own Infrastructure can be shared through Apple’s Family Sharing; Cloud can’t.
Cloud includes fair use of the relay: up to 3 sessions through the relay at the same time per subscription. When a subscription ends, we don’t interrupt a session in progress; only a new connection requires an active subscription.
Requests for refunds go to Apple, for example at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn’t limit your rights under mandatory law, in particular consumer protection law.
Nature of information and availability
Descriptions on this website show the apps as of the date given on each page and are for information only — they are not an offer within the meaning of the Polish Civil Code. Features, requirements and availability of the apps may change.
We provide the services to the extent of our technical capabilities. They may be temporarily unavailable, for example because of maintenance, failures or network limitations, and connection quality also depends on networks, devices and settings outside our control. We may change, suspend or discontinue any of the services.
Liability
You are responsible for securing your devices, your Apple Account and the Mac computers you connect to.
Towards businesses, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally, and our liability doesn’t cover lost profits. Towards consumers and sole traders with consumer rights, we are liable under the applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights you have under mandatory law, in particular consumer protection law.
Complaints
Send complaints about the services or the apps to support@pocketrocket.click or through the contact form. Describe what the complaint is about and give an email address for our reply. We’ll reply within 14 days of receiving it.
If you are a consumer, you can use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, for example the help of a municipal or district consumer ombudsman or a provincial Trade Inspection office in Poland. More information: prawakonsumenta.uokik.gov.pl.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this choice of law doesn’t deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country where you have your habitual residence. Disputes with businesses are settled by the court competent for aveneo’s registered office; disputes with consumers by the court competent under the general rules.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for valid reasons, for example a change in the law, in the scope of the services or for security reasons. We publish the new version on this page with the date of the last change. Changes apply from the date of publication.
The Polish version is binding; versions in other languages are translations.
